| Login and Registration Issues |
Why can't I log in? If you cannot log in, it may be because you have typed your username or password incorrectly. While the username is not case sensitive, the password is. This means that you must type in your password exactly like you did when you registered in terms of capitalized and uncapitalized letters. Make sure to check and double check your username and password. If you are 100% certain that you have typed correctly, you may have been banned. If this is the case you will see a notification when you try to log in and you will receive an email about it. If you don't know why you were banned, please contact a mod for more information. If neither of these are the case, please contact an admin through the contact page. Back to top |
Why do I get logged off automatically? If you do not check the Log me in automatically box when you log in, the board will only keep you logged in for a preset time. This prevents misuse of your account by anyone else. To stay logged in, check the box during login. This is not recommended if you access the board from a shared or public computer, e.g. library, internet cafe, university cluster, etc. Back to top |
What do I do if I lost my password? Don't panic! While your password cannot be retrieved it can be reset. To do this go to the login page and click 'I forgot my password'. Follow the instructions and you should be back online in no time. Back to top |

| Avatar-Related |
How do I make an avatar? Go to 'Edit Avatar' located under the 'Profile'-tab. From there, simply pick from the skins, eyes, mouths etc. under each layer heading in the box until you are satisfied. Then press the 'Go'-button to save your avatar. Back to top |
How do I buy clothes? Go to one of the shops (located in 'Shop' under the 'Feature'-tab), select the item(s) you want to buy by clicking '+' and then clicking 'Buy'. Back to top |
How do I equip clothes? First make sure that you buy a clothing item that can be equipped by your gender--they are labeled in the description--then go to 'Edit Avatar.' Layers which have corresponding items will be available; then click on the layers and select the item to equip. When you are satisfied with your avatar, press the 'Go'-button to save your avatar. Back to top |
Why isn't my avatar saving when I'm changing it? In order for you to see your new avatar, you may need to refresh the page. Do this by either clicking the 'Refresh Page'-button or by pressing 'F5'. Back to top |
Why isn't my item showing up when I try to edit my avatar? First make sure that your item is a clothing item. Do this by going to your 'Inventory' and find your item. If it says anything else than 'Clothes' under 'Item Type' your item is not a clothing item and can therefor not be equipped. If it does say 'Clothes' make sure that the item can be equipped your gender by looking at the description. E.g. an item with this description '[Female|Shirt]' can not be worn by male avatars. Back to top |
Where is layer X? A layer of items will only be shown if you have any items that belong to that layer. So for example, if you only have a shirt and a pair of pants, you won't see the hat layer. When you buy a hat you will see the hat layer. Back to top |
Do the battle system requirements affect my avatar? No, even if your battle system character can't use a specific battle system item in a battle, your avatar will still be able to equip it on your avatar. Back to top |
Why is my avatar in the wrong colors? Since the avatars on Eternal Nox are based on the .png format, they are restricted to 256 colors only. This means that if your avatar has more than 256 different colors on it some items will change color to meet the 256 color maximum. The admin are well aware of the problem, but there's no solution besides using less colors. Back to top |

| Forum Issues |
What is BBCode? BBCode is a special implementation of HTML. Back to top |
Can I use HTML? You can use a few HTML-tags for now, but we recommend sticking to BBCode. Back to top |
How do I post images? Images can be shown in your posts using the [img] BBCode Tag. The picture must be uploaded to a public image-hosting site such as Photobucket or TinyPic for the BBCode tag to work. Images on your home computer and any other non-public computer can't be shown. Neither can images displayed on a site that requires a password to log in, such as Hotmail or Yahoo. Back to top |

What are Sticky topics? Sticky topics appear below any announcements in a forum and only on the first page. They are often quite important so you should read them where possible. Back to top |

How do I edit or delete a post? You can edit and/or delete your own posts by clicking the 'edit'-button found at the top of the post. Only you, the admin, and the mods can edit your posts, and the admin and mods should do so rarely. Back to top |
How do I create a poll? When making a thread you can add a poll through the form found at the end of the page. Type in a question and then create multiple options with the "add option" button. You can add a timer for when the poll will end, 0 being a never-ending poll. Back to top |
How do I edit or delete a poll? As with posts, polls can only be edited by the original poster, admin, and mods. To edit a poll, click the first post in the topic, which always has the poll associated with it. If no one has cast a vote then users can delete the poll or edit any poll option. However, if people have already placed votes only mods and admin can edit or delete it; this is to prevent people rigging polls by changing options mid-way through a poll. Back to top |
Why can't I vote in polls? Only registered users can vote in polls to prevent distorting any results. If you have registered and still cannot vote then you probably do not have appropriate access rights. Back to top |
Why can't I access a forum? Some forums are off-limits to regular users, and are reserved for the use of the site admin and mods. Back to top |
How do I add a signature to my post? To add a signature to a post you must first create one. Go to 'Edit Profile' and write or post a picture in the 'Signature'-box. Once created you can check the 'Add Signature'-box on the posting form to add your signature to your post. You can also add a signature by default to all your posts by checking the box next to 'Always attach my signature' under 'Edit Profile'. You can still prevent a signature being added to individual posts by un-checking the 'Add Signature' box on the posting form. Back to top |

| Currency Issues |
What are Stars? Stars are the main currency of Eternal Nox. They can be used to buy items, heal at the temple and buy a user shop. Back to top |
How do I earn stars? You can earn stars by posting in the forum. The longer the post, the more stars you earn. Note that posting for the sole purpose of getting stars (spamming) is not allowed, and copy/pasting large chunks of text from other sites can get you into trouble. You can also earn stars by battling monsters and stealing items from the shops. Back to top |
What are Comets? Comets are a special currency only awarded in the 'Writer's Block'- and 'Word Game'-forum. Ten comets can be exchanged to one star. Back to top |
How do I exchange Comets to Stars? You can exchange ten comets to one star on the 'Exchange Cash'-page located under the 'Misc.'-tab. Simply write how many comets you wish to convert to stars and click 'Submit'. Back to top |

| Private Messaging |
Why can't I send private messages? There are three reasons for this; you are not registered and/or not logged on, the board admin have disabled private messaging for the entire board, or the board admin have prevented you individually from sending messages. If it is the latter case you should contact an admin. Disabling private messages for everyone is likely to be accompanied by an Announcement. Back to top |
How can I prevent getting unwanted private messages? If you warn the user to stop and they continue to send messages, please report them to a mod with a screenshot of all their PMs and your replies. Back to top |
What do I do if I receive a spamming or abusive email from someone from this site? The email form feature of this board includes safeguards to try to track users who send such posts. You should email an admin with a full copy of the email you received and it is very important this include the headers (these list details of the user that sent the email). They can then take action. Back to top |
What do I do if I receive an email from someone claiming to be admin? If you receive a private message from someone claiming to be a site admin and/or mod, and they ask you for your password or any other confidential material, please report it through the contact page. The site admin and mods will never ask for your password. The only admin of Eternal Nox are: Ebbe, Felina, Jarl and Rhyste. Any other claiming to be an admin is lying and should be reported.
